Nancy O'Dell's debut job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. In Charleston O'Dell's stories regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases led to an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on the instances. Ms. O'Dell was honored by the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. In addition, she serves as a co-anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
